A New Face in the Christchurch Office

Our Christchurch Business Development Manager, Kevin Bailey, sparked off a mini migration boom when he decided to make his home in New Zealand.

Kevin and his wife, Joanne, emigrated from England to Invercargill eight years ago, moving to Christchurch in 1993.

“We decided on New Zealand for lifestyle reasons. There’s more space and it’s a good environment to bring up kids, and the weather’s definitely better than England.

“Since then, my whole family has followed, including my parents, my three sisters and their
husbands. They’re all settled in and around Christchurch,” said Kevin.

With an accounting and finance degree and a background in business banking in New Zealand
and the UK, Kevin joined Scottish Pacific in August 1998 and is based in our Christchurch
office.

“Things certainly seems to be on the up in the South Island. There’s a lot of positive feeling
around and business people are generally reporting that things are getting very busy, which is
good news for the whole economy,” said Kevin.

“But we’re also seeing the banks tightening up on lending to small business and putting more
emphasis on bricks and mortar security, so small and medium sized business are finding it harder
to get bank finance.”

If your business is being stifled by this emphasis on bricks and mortar security, contact Kevin on

capital.
